Rules

Ranking
Listings are ranked by the total amount paid for their domain, highest first. On a tie, the older listing wins.
One listing per domain
https://www.Example.com/app and example.com are the same listing. Paying again for the same domain adds to its total.
New listing
Starts at $4.
Top-up
At least $2. You only pay the difference, and you can update the title, description and category at the same time.
Claiming a rank
Rank N costs $1 more than its current holder, never less than the minimum above.
Categories
Ranks are global. A category page filters the global board, so the #1 app in a category is the highest-paying app that chose it.
Limits
Whole dollars only, up to $100,000 per payment.
Expiry
None. A rank lasts until someone outbids it.
Refunds
None. Payments are final, including for listings removed under the content rules.
Clicks
Each visitor's click on a listing counts once per hour.

Not allowed

Listings that break these rules are removed without a refund.

FAQ

What is King of Apps?

King of Apps is a public leaderboard of apps ranked only by how much their makers paid. There is no algorithm, no voting and no editor: the order of the board is the order of the money. Makers pay to climb, pay the difference to defend their spot, and every click goes straight to the app.

Is the ranking a review or a recommendation?

No. A rank only shows how much a maker paid. It says nothing about quality, safety or popularity.

How much does #1 cost?

$1 more than the current #1's total. A brand-new listing starts at $4.

I got outbid. What now?

Re-enter your URL in the form, pick the rank you want back, and pay the difference.

How do I know clicks are real?

Clicks are de-duplicated per visitor per hour, and every outbound link carries utm_source=kingofapps, so you can check them in your own analytics.

Who handles payments?

Stripe's hosted checkout. Card details never reach King of Apps.

Can AI assistants read the board?

Yes. /llms.txt describes the site, /llms-full.txt has the whole board as Markdown, and every page has a Markdown version at the same path plus .md.
